What We Grade
Sports cards such as baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc. are cards we can grade and slab.
We also do non-sports cards like Star Wars, Garbage Pail Kids, Pokémon and others.
The cards at this time must be 2.5 x 3.5 standard size cards and thickness.
If you are unsure of your card thickness, you can print this out to help you determine. Most trading cards are 35 or 55 pt in size but patch or autograph cards can be thicker than standard.

We grade cards using a standard 4 subgrade grading system. Subgrades are comprised of the following categories:
- Edges
- Corners
- Surface
- Alignment
The subgrades are combined to create a single grade for the card. Single grade systems are more subjective and leave you wondering "why is this card a 6" for example.
The intent is for our grading to help you understand what defects or irregularities are present with your card and identify those for you in a grade and a report that is easily understood and also fair. Some grading systems also overly penalize you for a defect or irregularity and just because one aspect of the card is a 6, doesn't make the overall grade for the card a 6. We feel that the way we average the 4 grades for the card makes it fairer and easier to understand for you as a customer.

As part of the grading process, we also place the card in a clear protective sleeve and then encapsulate and seal the sleeved card in a clear acrylic case that contains the grading sticker for the card.
The case provides UV protection for the card and is tamper proof with security stickers placed on the case. The case is then placed in a clear sleeve to protect the case from scratches and keep it looking good.

In addition, if you like, we can provide magnetic cases for your cards for protection and not slab and grade the card and just provide some basic protection for your card until you choose to grade it later.
We can also sell your card on our website on a consignment basis so ask for details.
We also keep track of all the cards we have graded and can provide information and reports to identify the graded card if verification is needed.
